[The last event left Cheyenne in a weird place and since then, she's been rather scarce around the village. Aside from getting food at one of the village restaurants, she's spent most of her time either in her apartment or in the forests just outside the village. Today, she's actually back to her usual spot: sitting on the edge of one of Luceti's many bridges, looking down at the water.]

[A few hours of this goes by until she finally opens her journal and poses a question to the residents. The very thing that's been on her mind all this time.]

It is not uncommon for others to ask questions using these journals, yes? [A pause. She wasn't really expecting an answer to that.]

...what do you think it means to be a "person"?

Is it preferable for a situation to be romantic?

Of course. A romantic idea is a lot less scary than a horror one, or even nothing~ ah, nothing can be a scary thing indeed.

Nothing? [Head-tilt.] How can "nothing" be frightening if it is indeed "nothing"?

Because if it is indeed "nothing" then you will be "nothing."

But if you are nothing, how can you be afraid? You need something to be afraid of, and nothing is not something, it is nothing.

Because right now, you are something. If you become nothing then... there's nothing. It's a scary though, Cheyenne-chan.

...I see. Perhaps this is something I am simply incapable of understanding.

As far as I am aware, my kind cannot feel fear.

[There's a short gasp here]

Not that I am aware of. While it is an emotion I am capable of seeing and understanding, if is not one I can say for certain I have ever felt.

[A pause.] Although I suppose there is the possibility I have simply never seen something that would capable of frightening me.

Well! Lucky you, Cheyenne-chan. [With a laugh] Fear is a bad one!

Hm. I suppose if one could choose an emotion not to have, fear would be a good choice.

However, even unpleasant emotions are important, aren't they?

I don't know if fear or other things like that have a point, but I don't want them.

You would prefer an existence with only pleasant emotions, then? [A pause.] I suppose if such things were possible, that would be a logical choice for a creature to make.

Personally, I find some of my most unpleasant emotions to be rather useful.

Eeeh~ I see, I see. So we'll disagree there.

I suppose we shall. Perhaps it is simply due to my limited capabilities for emotions that I would see even the negative ones as important. They were some of the first I ever felt, after all.
