[It was Sunday today. That meant today was the day Cheyenne had to do something she hated doing more than anything else in Luceti.]

[Grocery shopping.]

[She can be found walking around inside the grocery store, holding an empty bag at her side. Every so often she picks something up, frowns at it, and then puts it back. Occassionally she might shake something, maybe even peek under her blindfold in the hopes of getting a better look at it, but so far that bag looks pretty empty. She'll keep this up for about an hour until she's filled the bag, most of it either produce or something microwavable, and then make her way back to CH 6 to drop her things off. Unfortunately, all the snow from the day before was still covering most of the paths, so she'll probably trip once or twice on her way there.]

[That out of the way, Cheyenne moves on to how she usually spends her day: finding various places to relax and perhaps listen to the spirits passing by throughout the village. More often than not, that place is a bridge; the running water of the river underneath is one of the few things she's always able to see, after all. It's much more comforting than the stillness of her apartment, even if it is chillier sitting near the water.]

[And in the evening, after a failed cooking attempt that she won't be in the mood to talk about, she heads to Seventh Heaven to get something to eat there. All in all, a rather normal day for this illusionist.]

Yes. [a slight smile] You could say they are the purest, most basic form of life. I'm a mushishi, so studying their nature and behavior is my line of work.

[Tilting her head and glancing at him, although whether it actually helps her see better is anyone's guess.]

I have never seen such a soul before. Although there were beings in my previous world who possessed multiple souls, there was rarely such disparity between them... am I correct in assuming you were not born with this mushi within you?

[Damn. That's -- very perceptive. He glances sidelong, not sure if he's entirely comfortable with it, even if there's no real distrust present. After a silence he nods, and replies] Yeah.

You can see pretty well. Somehow it... came to inhabit me, at a certain point in my childhood. I guess it's a part of me, now. [he touches the place, where his left eye was]

[She looks at him for a few moments before once more looking down at the water.] Hmm... I cannot recall a time when someone has said I can see well. Although I am capable of seeing your soul without the need to turn and face you, I would never be able to see what color your hair is...

[A pause.] ...that is, assuming you have any.

[slight smirk] It's white.

And there are more than one ways of seeing. You just seem to see-- different things. [pause] What do you mean, when you say you can see my soul?

White... [She muses on that for a moment before continuing.]

Rather than sight, my eyes are the source of my powers. As such, I see the world around me through sense. Creatures bearing souls appear in my line of vision whether I am facing them or not. No two are ever alike, each with its own unique hue and characteristics. It is the way I am capable of discerning one creature from the next.

Unique hue? [okay, curiosity even colors his voice, at this point. A pause] But what about trees, or stones? Do all living things have souls, in your vision?

Not all living things bear a soul that I am capable of seeing, although I would not be able to tell you whether that is because they truly lack a soul or not.

Regardless, I cannot discern between trees, plants, and other inanimate objects unless they are moving.

That must be troublesome, at times. [and sounds uncannily similar to ...hmm. He leans back, mildness barely obscuring the curiosity in his voice]

So what does my soul look like?

[She's quiet for a moment, looking over his soul without glancing over at him, thinking of how to put it into words.]

...calm. A bit shorter than the average soul with a faint blue-green hue. It bears a strong, concentrated glow, but it is not enough quite bright enough to be considered harsh.

[A smile.] And that glow is very steady. Perhaps... more akin to the light of the sun than the flickering of a candle.

Huh. [he blinks and leans back, considering this quietly. It's so interesting, and just as completely lacking parameters for him to interpret it with. He isn't quite sure what to say, for a moment-- until settling on musing]

Shorter? [and more decisively]
What does Sanji's look like?

[She doesn't need to think about this one too much, having fed from it many times by now:] A bright blue hue with a very vibrant color. Longer in length, but still within the parameters of a typical human soul. It has a strong concentrated glow as well as a strong outward glow. And the color of that glow tends to change much more dramatically than most.

[a faint smirk-- it's so close he can't help smiling] Heh. It would.

Blue, huh? [muttering, thinking this over. For some reason-- maybe the same that makes it easy to speak to mushi and flowers and people like San, he remarks very straightforwardly]

You know... I gave Sanji a hard time about offering up his soul to be fed on, the first time he mentioned it. [understatement 8|] It can't be easy to convince people...

To be honest, it continues to surprise me just how many people are so willing to be of assistance to a monster like myself. In my previous world, I was often forced to resort to blackmail in order to feed...

Had I attempted such a thing here, I doubt I would have been able to live peacefully in the village.
