[Even in tense situations, Cheyenne was generally a very calm person. But the voice coming through the journals right now sounds very strained. There's a small cut on her cheek and a bit of blood on the other. She's trying to keep her voice steady, succeeding for the most part. But oddly enough, it doesn't sound like she's in pain. The way she's breathing and the manner she seems to be holding herself almost gives the impression that she's afraid of something.]

[But this was Cheyenne. That couldn't be it, right?]

I don't suppose... there are any healers in town willing to make house calls?

[Since Sanji was pretty much the first person she met in Luceti, she knows she can take him for his word.]

All right. [Her expression is neutral again.]

Have I ever told you illusionists are supposed to be incapable of fear? It is the only emotion we can understand and recognize on instinct alone, yet we are also incapable of feeling it ourselves.

[He's treating the issue as seriously as he can... and oh, Sanji certainly remembers some of this discussion. He nods, folding his arms]

I think you did mention it, yeah.

Likewise, I am certain I have mentioned the effects of my eyes if I were to accidentally look into the eyes of another creature. They are designed to reflect a creatures greatest fear.

And yet, if an illusionist were to look into the eyes of another illusionist, nothing happens. If a conscious effort is put forth, in theory it is possible to feed on another illusionist, but whether an illusion is created or not is not something I can verify as true or not...

[She turns slightly, as if to glance at the nearest door, but stops herself.]

...however, when it comes to an illusionist's own eyes, it is another matter. It has been said an illusionist will die if it sees its own reflection, though whether that is true or not... obviously it is not the sort of thing any illusionist would set out an attempt to disprove.

[He's being a perfect audience - quiet, but reflecting. His eyes briefly turn to her as if lightly assessing, too, until he hazards a guess]

The cuts from before... did they come from a mirror? [The reflection from water wouldn't give her injuries like those]

[She gives a small, sharp nod.] I knew well enough that any of these rooms would possibly contain a mirror. I made sure to locate and cover it the first week I moved in.

However, I was not the only once living here during the recent family experiment. I recall removing the cover myself, but forgot about it. Replacing it must have simply slipped my mind. And even without my blindfold, I-I... I don't open my eyes very often.

[She couldn't explain why, but simply talking about it was bringing back that strange emotion she couldn't place.]

[He's nodding again, piecing together the information and drawing his eyes away from her to the doors in the apartment. It completely blindsided her, is what it sounds like - which might explain some of that behavior before.]

So you opened your eyes for once, and... [Got a nasty surprise]

Are there any other mirrors?

I'm not sure if I was looking at quite the right angle to have seen my own reflection, but... [That feeling it gave her... She grips the hem of her dress with her good hand and turns to the door.]

...no. This is the only one. However, I have... not been in here since I managed to pull myself out earlier.

Naturally I can't say how messy it might be.

[He doesn't catch that gesture of hers, but he understands enough of this to know what he's gotta do now]

Just leave the cleaning to me, Cheyenne-chan~! I'll have the room straightened in no time at all!

You are too kind, Sanji. [She manages a small smile before taking a steadying breath and reaching up to open the door. She lets the door swing open before taking a few steps back, looking far more tense than she had a few moments ago.]

[The bathroom doesn't seem too "messy" as first glance, save for a few shards of glass scattered along the ground, but the counter is nearly covered in it. Most of the mirror stayed in tact, seeing as it was more or less glued to the wall.]

[But most notable of all were the three separate impact points nearest the bottom where the mirror had been punched rather hard. Small flecks of blood dot the mirror and counter nearest the impacts, two of which are far bloodier than the third. The blood seems to trail down to a spot on the floor near the inside of the door as well.]

[...]

[... Right. Sanji smooths up his sleeves until they're at his biceps. Game face is on.]
