[There's a rather strange new feather walking around town right now. For one, she seems to have torn off a strip of cloth from around her new-feather dress to blindfold herself, for whatever reason. Despite that, she seems to be getting around just fine...]

[But that's not all! Even if she weren't wearing the blindfold, she's not even trying to watch where she's going. She's too busy leafing through the journal in her hands, occassionally shaking it as though she expects the voices inside to just fall out. And those of you paying attention over the networks have likely noticed that she is holding it upside down as well.]

[In a moment, she stops walking and lets out a very small sigh before stating the obvious to whomever is listening.] I am no longer in the Stendrion Desert, am I.

[ is that a blindfold. it may not be black, but it pings Xion anyway.

besides, how can a person wearing a blindfold use the journal? concerned and curious at the same time, Xion decides to head over to her. a new feather could probably use a little assistance, right? though just to double check: ]

Hey... [ headtilting a little at her ] You're new, right? Do you need help?

New? [Cheyenne glances over, curious as to why someone would even try and approach her... unless no one here honestly has any idea what she is.] If it's true that this place is no longer Stendrion, then yes, I suppose I am new.

It's true. At least, the only name I've ever heard for this place is Luceti. [ smiles a little -- even if she's not entirely sure Cheyenne can see it. Though she's looking right at her, the same way Riku was always able to... ] It's a different world than the one you were on before.

[It's hard to tell whether Cheyenne can see the smile or not, since she's returning the gesture either way. Which may seem odd, considering the news she's just been given.]

A different world? How strange. Did I wander into the Enchanted Forest by mistake...? [A pause.] I suppose not. It isn't customary of the Enchanted Forest to steal one's belongings. Is it possible to retrieve the clothing I was wearing before?

[ ... she's so calm. Xion's mouth twitches into a slightly wider smile. ] Yeah. There's a clothing store in the village where you should be able to find your things. I can show you there, if you want.

[If this really is a different world, clearly this girl has no idea what Cheyenne really is. Perhaps, for now, that's for the best. At least, until she can find her clothes.]

If it is not too much to ask, I would most appreciate it. With or without this blindfold, I'm afraid my vision is quite limited.

Sure! I'd be happy to. Do you need a hand?

[ literally, Xion is holding a hand out, in case Cheyenne needs something to hold onto as they walk. ]

[Cheyenne makes no effort to take that hand, although the blindfold plays no part in that. Rather, she's looking down at almost as though she were confused.]

At first I had assumed you might have just been mistaken in approaching me, but if this is indeed a different world... do you not know what I am?

[ abruptly her expression blanks out into something like shock before she manages to calm herself slightly. that sort of question hits home. slowly, she lowers her hand and shakes her head. ]

No. Is it important?

I suppose that would depend on whether or not you find it important to know if the creature you are speaking to is human, or something dangerous.

... [ simply ] Are you going to hurt me?

No. I am not going to hurt you. Though many may consider me to be a monster, at the very least, I am a peaceful one.

Then I don't see a problem. [ she smiles again. ] Besides... I can understand that better than you think. [ slightly crooked smile, briefly rubbing the back of her neck ]

[This day is just full of surprises!] You mean you are not afraid?

You just said you won't hurt me. What's there to be scared of?

That does not mean I have not harmed others in the past, nor will I be able to refrain from harming others in the future.

[A pause.]

Although it would be most inconvenient to drive away someone willing to help me, I believe it would be deceitful not to be honest about what sort of creature you are associating with.

... [ very gently ] I'm a monster too. I've hurt people. If you're warning me, it's only fair I warn you, right? [ she sighs quietly, rubbing a hand up and down her arm ] But even though I've done bad things, I still have friends who forgive me and trust me. And everyone should have a friend, right? [ her smile turns even more crooked -- and sad. ] Even monsters.

A friend?

[She frowns. Xion doesn't look like a monster, as far as she can see. This is perplexing.] That is not something I can say I have had experience with. Humans tend to avoid my kind, and for good reason. I have never heard of a creature befriending something that is known to prey upon their species.

Oh! Well, if it helps at all, I'm not actually human. [ a little nervous saying that. she still doesn't like disclosing that she's a clone, but, well, Cheyenne is being so honest with her it would feel only fair. ] But even if I were, I wouldn't mind. You don't seem like a bad person, monster or not. That's all that really matters to me.

[Xion, you are only continuing to confuse her. A human soul usually means a human, right?] You... are not human? Truly?

[Tilting her head to the side. It totally helps her see better, don't question it.] You look human to me. In what way would you not be a human? Unless there are different varieties of humans that go by a different name, I can see quite clearly that you possess a human soul.

[ the news seems to shock her. a human soul? really? a Replica like her? slowly she places a hand over her chest, trying to let this sink in.

in her shock she just blurts out the truth without much thinking about it ]

I... I'm a Replica. I'm just something somebody created... in a lab. Just a puppet given the memories of a boy... if the memories that made me ever left me, I'd cease to exist. So completely that no one would even remember me. [ she shakes her head. ] I'm definitely not human. But I have... a soul? [ she looks down at herself, somewhat at a loss ] Is that like having a heart?

['Shock' is an emotion Cheyenne can pick up on, but why such news would be so shocking is beyond her.] I am uncertain what you mean by "heart", as that is merely an organ and has little to do with the soul... but you do have a soul.

I do not see creatures as they are. I only see their souls. The fact that I can see you at all indicates you have one. [She smiles.] And such a warm color, as well...

Just an organ? [ that's confusing. Xion looks up at Cheyenne, then back down, trying to puzzle this out. ] Then maybe they're like... the same thing? What I know as a heart, and you see as a soul...

[ but that would mean... for certain? no, Xion's not ready to believe that just yet. A Replica with her very own heart? Is that even possible? But having a soul... Vexen couldn't have programmed her with something like that. She takes a deep breath, steadying herself, and finally looks up at Cheyenne again, smiling at the description. ]

It sounds pretty... you can really see the soul of every person? [ she looks around them, seeing only people. ] Wow... [ and then she laughs. ] Thank you.

Did I do something worth being thanked for? [Still wearing a smile, but still rather confused nonetheless.] Yes, I can. Although I'm afraid it is only for my own benefit that I can see such things.

You see, I feed on souls.

It's just for explaining that to me! It was nice to hear, that I have a soul, and it's a warm color. [ a tiny laugh.

the next part catches her by surprise, though, and she blinks. ] Oh! I guess that's why you said you're dangerous, huh. How... if you don't mind me asking, how do you...?
